AAIFF’14 Opens with SOLD and launches fight against child trafficking. Jeffrey D. Brown’s directorial debut aligns with Childreach International’s #TaughtNotTrafficked campaign to work to prevent child trafficking in Nepal, where numbers of children sold into slavery and forced prostitution are rising. The screenings on July 24th and July 26th will be followed by Q&A with Academy Award winning director Jeffrey D. Brown, producer Jane Charles and SOLD actress Seirah Royin. Asian CineVision Presents the 37th Asian American International Film Festival in New York

Asian CineVision is pleased to present the full film lineup for the 37th Asian American International Film Festival (the AAIFF’14), which will run from July 24th to August 2rd, 2014.

The 37th Annual Asian American International Film Festival explores a diverse range of themes relevant to the Asian and Asian American experience. The exciting lineup presents a total of 18 features and 33 shorts that are compiled into 5 short programs, ranging over 21 countries and regions, including Australia, Afghanistan, Canada, China, Hawaii, Iran, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, The Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Tibet, UK, and USA. Among the 18 feature films, 3 will make a North America Premiere, 1 will make a US Premiere, 11 will make an East Coast Premiere, and 3 will make a New York City Premiere.

SOLD to Open 37th Asian American International Film Festival In New York

SOLD, the story of an extraordinary thirteen-year-old girl living in a poor village in Nepal who becomes a victim of human trafficking and must risk everything to escape, will be the Opening Night Presentation of the 37thannual Asian American International Film Festival. Asian CineVision is hosting the film on July 24th, 2014 at the Asia Society in New York and again on July 26th, 2014 at the Village East Cinema, New York.

SOLD is based on the acclaimed and award-winning international best seller by Patricia McCormick. The film is directed by Emmy and Academy Award winning director Jeffrey D. Brown, produced by award-winning filmmaker Jane Charles, and Executive Produced by two-time Academy-Awards-winner Emma Thompson.
