Description

Based on the real life of Bhagat Singh Thind’s struggle for U.S. citizenship after WW1, this film tells an American and human story.

After serving with the United States Army in World War 1, Asian Army Vet, Bhagat Singh Thind (played by Waris Ahluwalia), returns home only to have his American citizenship suddenly revoked and told to leave the country. He and his Irish lawyer fight to change the law and during the journey find they themselves are also changed as they go from strangers to brothers.

Director's Bio

Harjus Singh is a 3rd year MFA Directing student at Chapman University. Originally from Cincinnati, he earned his undergrad in BioMedical Engineering. He was on his way to medical school when he also got into top film schools.Harjus realized that whoever replaces him in medical school would do the same job as him, but wondered if the person who would replace him in film school would champion the Sikh identity in films. Since then, his films have been in many prestigious film festivals; he was invited to the Long Beach comic con as a guest director and he directed the most watched film to come out of Chapman. Harjus has worked in the industry at EuropaCorp and CBS.
