Mysore Magic

Directed By Abijeet Achar

India, Mauritius | Narrative | 14 min

A 1982 disco competition is the setting of an unlikely romance between Premi and Vasu—one an outsider from a tiny island in Africa and the other a show-off from a high caste family. With one in the audience and one dancing on stage, Premi and Vasu spark a romance that embodies the humanity and hope of those monikered as “immigrants,” years before their eventual journey to the West.
