      Of Cambodian and Vietnamese origin, born in a refugee camp in Thailand, and a Canadian citizen, Laurence Ly earned a master’s degree in 2017 in Communication, Cinema, and Moving Image. In 2022, he graduated from L’inis (Institut de l’image et du son) in film directing. His works include The Laurels (web series) and Correspondence (short documentary), both of which have been shown at many festivals around the world. The Little Shopping Trolley is his most recent short film, funded by the Canada Council for the Arts and Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
