Mona Xia is a Chinese-American former studio executive turned documentary filmmaker. She grew up between Beijing and LA and received a BA in Cinema Studies at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. She then worked on the Studio Films team at Netflix and eventually transitioned to the Documentary Series team. Guided by her unrooted upbringing between China and the US, Mona is a filmmaker seeking the relationship between characters and their collective identities of family, culture, time, and place. Erin Ramirez is a Chinese-Jamaican and Dominican filmmaker originally from New Hampshire who uses their foundation in classical American film language to reconsider new methods of storytelling. Erin's work has been supported by the Sundance Institute, NeXt Doc, and the Sharjah Art Foundation, and has been screened and earned awards at festivals around North America, including the Palm Springs International Shortfest, NewFest, Outfest Fusion, VC Film Fest, Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, and others.
